The itineraries of such cruises can vary. Most of them stay mainly in the Southern Hemisphere; others travel to the Northern Hemisphere; and some divide the trip equally between the two zones. There are many things to consider when planning a worldwide cruise. One aspect that can get overlooked is the direction you want to travel. At first, that might seem like a silly question, but it is a legitimate one. Do you prefer an eastward course or a westward course? Most prefer a westward course because hours are gained instead of lost when traveling through time zones. Also, some worldwide cruises truly circumnavigate the planet, while others start in the US and end in Europe.
