Check Out the Beaches
St. Maarten is home to 37 beaches, leaving more beaches to explore than you likely have time for so picking the right beach for your beach preferences is important. From quiet, nearly secluded beaches to beaches that are packed with people, you'll be sure to find exactly what you have in mind. Long Bay is know for its peaceful tranquility, Burgeaux Beach is a hot spot for surfing, and Orient Bay is known for its beach restaurants, shops, and water sports. You also don't want to miss Maho Beach, near the airport, allowing an exciting view of airplanes taking off and landing.
Head to the Casinos
There are 13 casinos on St. Marrten, but Casino Royal is a favorite of most. It boasts more than 400 slot machines and has a variety of gaming tables, including poker, blackjack, craps, roulette, and baccarat. There is also the Showroom Royale Theater in Casino Royal, which has shows every night.
Water Sports
With water that is warm year round, St. Maarten is an ideal place for an abundance of water sports. Try your hand at surfing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, waterskiing, or kayaking. The water, which is clear, is also perfect for St Maarten excursions, like snorkeling and scuba diving. If you prefer to stay dry, there's also sailing and deep sea fishing.

Head to Front Street for some great shopping. You'll find amazing deals on electronics, china, watches, and jewelry with magnificent sapphires, rubies, diamonds, and emeralds. You'll be pleasantly surprised to find that there is no local sales tax in St. Maarten.
